Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add ground beef or Italian sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks. Brown for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add broken lasagna noodles, stir gently, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook for 10-12 minutes until noodles are tender.
  5. Stir in ricotta cheese until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
