- Gather all ingredients and tools.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Cream butter and sugars in a large bowl for 2-3 minutes. Beat in egg and extracts. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Press sprinkles on top if desired.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
