  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to use your favorite mix-ins.

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and tools.
  2. Whisk together dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Cream butter and sugars in a large bowl for 2-3 minutes. Beat in egg and extracts. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Press sprinkles on top if desired.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  5. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
