Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Then, add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined. If using chocolate chips, fold them in at this stage.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before lifting them out and cutting into squares.
