Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Marinate the chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl. Beat the eggs in another bowl and place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Dip marinated chicken in flour, then eggs, and finally panko breadcrumbs. Fry in batches for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the honey sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Toss the fried chicken in the honey sauce until evenly coated and serve immediately garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
