  • 8 small tortillas Corn or flour based on preference.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or a Mexican blend.
Optional Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup sour cream Adds creaminess and tang.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Mix with sour cream for a rich sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Brightens the flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro Chopped for topping.
Vegetarian Alternatives
  • 2 cups canned black beans Rinsed and drained.
  • 2 cups grilled vegetables Sautéed bell peppers, zucchini, and onions.
  • 2 cups roasted cauliflower Seasoned with spices.
  • 2 cups canned chickpeas Seasoned and sautéed.
  • 2 cups firm tofu Marinated and sautéed.

Method
 

  1. Prepare the chicken by shredding it and mixing with spices in a bowl.
  2. Make the creamy sauce by mixing sour cream, mayonnaise, and lime juice in a bowl.
  3. Heat tortillas in a skillet for 30 seconds on each side, then assemble tacos with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.
  4. Optionally, warm assembled tacos in the skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Drizzle creamy sauce over tacos and serve immediately.
