  • 8 slices challah or brioche bread Cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 6 large eggs For custard mixture
  • 2 cups whole milk Adds creaminess

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes and place in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down to soak. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F. Let casserole sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before baking.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
