Ingredients
  

Caramelized Onion and Spinach Filling
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, salt, and sugar. Cook for 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Add chopped spinach to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until wilted. Stir in garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle. Spread the filling, sprinkle cheeses, and roll tightly.
  4. Slice the log into 1-inch pieces and place on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
